India and France to Enhance Collaboration in AI, Tourism, Manufacturing, and Finance
Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has proposed the establishment of business working groups between India and France to strengthen cooperation in various sectors such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), tourism, manufacturing, and finance. During his visit to Paris, he emphasized the potential for increased collaboration in technology, talent mobility, and global capability centers.
Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted the need for focused attention on emerging sectors and suggested the formation of working groups to facilitate deeper engagement between businesses from both countries. He mentioned the possibility of setting up a group specifically dedicated to exploring the realm of AI.
Goyal expressed India’s interest in promoting tourism actively and assisting French companies in enhancing their competitiveness in the global market through manufacturing initiatives. He also acknowledged the existing exchanges in banking and insurance between the two nations and proposed further advancements in this area.
Furthermore, the minister proposed the establishment of global capability centers to leverage India’s abundant talent pool and improve collaboration between businesses. He emphasized the importance of exploring various subjects within the two business groupings and assured the activation of a fast track mechanism to facilitate efficient communication.
Goyal underscored the importance of expanding technological frontiers and enhancing talent mobility to build a brighter future through business engagement. He is currently in Paris to attend ministerial meetings of the OECD and the WTO, as well as conduct bilateral discussions with trade ministers from various countries.
